Letter to President Aoun and Petition Drive

HEAT's first goal was to make the Northeastern campus aware of its impact on climate change and begin to reduce its carbon footprint. In order to make big changes on campus HEAT needed the Administrations attention and cooperation. HEAT drafted a letter (link to separate page with "letter to Aoun") to President Auon asking that Northeastern commit to establishing a plan to reach climate neutrality. In order to show student support for this initiative HEAT also ran the largest petition drive ever seen at Northeastern. 5,100 students, 23 student organizations, and 29 staff/faculty signed the petition featured below. This resulted in President Aoun signing the President's Climate Commitment. HEAT is currently working with the administration to ensure that they comply with the stipulations set forth in the PCC.
