Think Outside the Bottle
The Think Outside the Bottle (TOTB) Campaign was brought to Northeastern University by HEAT, SEA, and PSA during Spring 2008. This goal of this campaign is to increase awareness about the negative impacts of the privatization of water and convince Northeastern to ban bottled water on its campus. TOTB collected over 1000 petitions supporting the campaign, hosted multiple tap water challenges where only one fifth of the competitors could correctly distinguish tap water from Dasani, Poland Spring, and Aquafina, and hosted a press conference at The Otherside Cafe which attracted TV, print, and radio outlets, generating 8 media hits for the campaign.
